Preparing for Your Lake Erie Charter Fishing Trip

Trip booked?  Now what you need to know...

Once you schedule your trip, Captain Brandon will send you a confirmation email with info for your trip.  If you've been on the water before you have an idea what to expect.  If this is your first time, check out the list below for more information on what you may need to bring!  We will be ready to leave the dock at the time your trip is scheduled to begin so please arrive 10-15 minutes early!

What to bring?

Consider all the following:

  • Current/Valid Ohio Fishing License for everyone fishing.  See below for more information.

  • Cooler to take home your catch

  • Rain Gear – The fish are already wet, we only cancel for wind or lightning!

  • Comfortable clothing - You will want to dress in layers that you can add or remove if desired.  It is always cooler on the lake.

  • Closed toe, soft sole footwear- You want comfortable footwear that can get wet and closed toes are safer to protect you from sharp objects.

  • Sunscreen – SPF 30 or greater!  Even if you don’t think you’ll need it, you probably will!

  • Sunglasses

  • Motion sickness medication (Take 30 min prior to trip) Don't wait until it's too late!

  • Snacks and beverages for your trip. Responsible alcohol consumption is permitted.  If you become intoxicated you will be required to wear a PFD and if it becomes a problem the Captain will end the trip early with no reduction in cost.

Ohio Fishing license

Every person fishing over the age of 16 must have a valid Ohio Fishing License for their trip.

Licenses can be hard copy or in digital format.
